// ABOUT_US
Built on 20+ years of engineering expertise, a commitment to transparency, and a genuine passion for what vehicles can become.
// FOUNDER
Power & Performance UK was founded by Dawud — a master software engineer with over 20 years of hands-on experience in the vehicle industry. His work combines a deep understanding of mechanical engineering with a genuine, restless passion for what's possible when you push a vehicle beyond its factory limits.
What sets Dawud apart isn't just technical ability — it's his approach. Before any work begins, he takes the time to educate every customer about exactly what's wrong, why it's happened, and what the solution involves. You understand the problem and make an informed decision. No car disappearing for a day and reappearing with a cryptic invoice.
His expertise extends well beyond vehicle software development into reverse engineering, mechanical systems design, and ECU architecture. His eye for detail is precision-level — every project, without exception, is held to the highest standard.
20+ years developing, reverse engineering and optimising vehicle control software across a vast range of makes and ECU platforms.
Complete engine builds, cross-platform conversions, and anything that requires understanding how the whole system works — not just the software layer.
Outside the workshop, Dawud is a fully licensed pilot. The same precision applied to airworthiness standards flows directly into how he approaches every vehicle.

Behind every clean ECU flash and every line of hex that lines up perfectly, there's a person who lives and breathes computers. Broadie is that person — and a valued member of the Power & Performance UK team.

Broadie — On the Tools
Broadie comes to us with a solid background in computer building and computer science — the kind of foundation that makes the difference between someone who can read a file and someone who truly understands what's inside it. That understanding is exactly what our work demands.
Before joining the team, Broadie built up years of experience as a crypto trader. It might sound unrelated to ECU work, but the two have more in common than you'd think — both require a keen eye for detail and the ability to spot patterns in dense, fast-moving data. That same discipline translates directly into the precision our main services rely on.
Day to day, Broadie is central to our ECU programming, coding, and hexadecimal editing — the meticulous, detail-level work where a single character out of place can be the difference between a clean flash and a bricked module. It's a role that rewards patience, accuracy, and a methodical mindset, and Broadie brings all three.
Formal understanding of how software and hardware actually interact.
Hands-on hexadecimal editing, coding and ECU programming.
Pattern recognition and data discipline carried over from the markets.
The precision mindset that clean ECU work absolutely depends on.
"A good ECU file is built the same way a good trade is — by reading the data properly, not guessing at it."

Engine swaps, full rebuilds, cross-platform conversions — personal projects that most engineers wouldn't attempt. His latest: a 2.0 turbocharged Saab engine extracted, adapted and squeezed into a Vauxhall Corsa B. Not a kit, not a guide — just engineering knowledge applied from first principles.

Not wanting the all-too-common S3 or Golf R, Dawud chose the smallest and lightest 4×4 in the VAG lineup — the Audi S1. But not stopping there, he also wanted the quickest. After multiple upgrades and a Stage 3 map, the S1 was producing 371 bhp. Small, light, and grippy — it drives more like a quad bike than a car.

Dawud's other great passion is aviation. He is a part-owner of a Cessna, hangered and maintained at Blackpool Airport — a machine he knows intimately, not just as a pilot, but as someone who understands exactly what keeps it airworthy.
Aviation demands a standard of precision and discipline that most industries never come close to. Every pre-flight check, every system inspection, every decision in the air carries real consequence. There is no room for shortcuts.
That same mindset — the rigour, the attention to detail, the refusal to sign something off unless it's right — is exactly what Dawud brings into every job at Power & Performance UK. Two very different fields, one standard.
"In aviation, close enough isn't good enough. That's the standard I hold myself to on every car I touch."

Fully licensed and actively flying out of Blackpool Airport.
Co-owner of a Cessna — hangered and maintained to airworthiness standards.
Understanding the full system — mechanical, electrical, software — is the same whether it's an ECU or an aircraft.
Based at Lancashire's premier general aviation facility on the Fylde Coast.
// OUR_STORY
Power & Performance UK was originally established on Garden Street in Nelson (BB9 9DN), operating from a shared premises alongside Auto Care MOT, Body Shop, and M65 Commercials — all under the leadership of Sajad Shah, a trusted and well-respected name in the local MOT and vehicle servicing industry.
Those early years shaped everything — building a reputation for quality and reliability while working within the constraints of a shared space. We made it work. But as our client base grew, we knew the business needed an environment built specifically around what we do.
We have since relocated to a purpose-refurbished facility, designed from the ground up around our workflow and equipment. Where before we adapted to fit a premises, we now operate in a space that adapts to us — faster turnarounds, better equipment access, and a cleaner, more professional environment for every customer.
"They say you should never forget where you came from. We never will."

We maintain an ongoing working relationship with Saj's team. For all your MOT requirements, they remain our first and only recommendation — professional, reliable, and rooted in the same values we built our reputation on.
